NEWS FROM GET TAXI

GETTAXI DOMINATES GLOBAL TAXI MARKET WITH LAUNCH OF NEW BLACKBERRY APP

25th July 2012, GetTaxi, the black taxi-ordering app, has launched the new BlackBerry version of the service, meaning the unparalleled iPhone and Android functionality is now available to BlackBerry users. The new release has allowed GetTaxi to leap ahead of its competitors, being the only app of its kind catering for those with BlackBerry devices.

The experience for BlackBerry users with the new Version 2.0 app means that taxi travel worldwide has never been more convenient. The app identifies a user’s location and brings them a taxi as quick and effectively as possible. Features include full driver information including their number plate, phone number and picture.

With an option to pay with cash or credit card with no additional cost to passenger or driver, taxi-ordering has become easier than ever before. The app has already facilitated over 400,000 taxi rides worldwide, with this number growing daily.

Features of the redesigned GetTaxi BlackBerry app Version 2.0 include:

·         Choice of entering location through GPS or picking a well known spot, such as a cafe or restaurant

·         In addition to the instant ordering, there is an option to pre-book cabs for exact time.

·         Be rewarded with Loyalty Points for taking rides and sharing the application

·         Option to pay by cash, voucher or business account credit card, with no additional cost to the passenger or driver

Shahar Waiser, Founder and CEO of GetTaxi comments: “We are very excited to take the lead with our new BlackBerry app and do something our competitors cannot. The newly improved app enables BlackBerry users to have the same high quality experience already available on iPhone and Android that is already facilitating thousands of taxi rides each day. ”

GetTaxi gives people a quick and easy way to order a taxi from their BlackBerry, Android or iPhone. And GetTaxi’s drivers are equipped with a dedicated “plug-and-ride” driver unit, which allows them to instantly join GetTaxi and start earning money.

With GetTaxi already servicing the UK, Israel, Russia and imminent plans to launch in New York made possible by a recent $20 million investment (bringing the total investment in the company $30 million to date), the taxi service is poised for global domination.

GetTaxi is focused on creating the best possible taxi experience for its clientele with the combination of intuitive app and web interface, worldwide presence and exceptional service.

The GetTaxi Version 2.0 app is available to download free from BlackBerry App World.
